Thor: Love and Thunder: Are There Two Versions of the Mjolnir At The Same Time with Jane's Re-forged Hammer?

If there is another thing that went through so much as the story of the Marvel Cinematic Universe progressed, the Mjolnir has its own narrative to tell from the moment of its arrival to having been reforged by its newest wielder, Jane Foster. After Endgame, are there two versions of Mjolnir in existence at the same time in Thor: Love and Thunder?

Thor: Love and Thunder: Are There Two Versions of the Mjolnir At The Same Time?

In the first-ever teaser of Thor: Love and Thunder, Thor’s jaw dropped upon seeing his ex-girlfriend, Jane Foster, don the suit of the Mighty Thor and wield the Mjolnir, now reforged, effortlessly and with all her confidence and stance. It could be remembered that Thor took the Mjolnir from the past and used it in Endgame where Captain America was able to prove himself worthy to use it and still, many are confused whether there are two Mjonirs at the same time because of this.

A quick re-watch of Endgame would answer the question. See, when Thor borrowed the Mjolnir from his past self at the time when Jane was in Asgard, by the end of Endgame, it was shown that along with the return of the stones, Captain America took the Mjolnir with him which indicates that other than putting the infinity stones back to where they belong, he also returned the Mjolnir in Asgard.

Otherwise, a time paradox would surely arise. The Mjolnir that Jane wields is presumptively the same one that Hela broke when she first met her brothers. Much to the surprise of Thor other than seeing Jane as a superheroine is probably because he saw it before his own eyes that the Mjolnir was destroyed by Hela and for Jane to have it in her own hands must be a complete shock for the God of Thunder.

Theories point that the reason how the Mjolnir was reforged is that when a person worthy to wield it comes across it, the enchantment that Odin placed in the Mjolnir caused itself to reforge and grant its wielder the power of Thor. As for Jane, it suggests that her power comes from the Mjolnir unlike that of Thor whose powers come from within and the Mjolnir is just like something to help him focus it.

See the Mjolnir come back in Thor: Love and Thunder premiering in theaters on July 8, 2022.
