Thor: Love and Thunder Adds Man of Steel Star Russell Crowe in Mystery Role


Thor: Love and Thunder have added another Academy Award winner to its stellar cast. Gladiator star Russell Crowe is set to appear in the highly anticipated Marvel Cinematic Universe sequel.

Deadline confirms that Crowe will be joining the cast of the fourth Thor film. The report comes shortly after the Man of Steel actor was spotted hanging out with Chris Hemsworth and other MCU stars.

Interestingly, Crowe's role in Love and Thunder has not yet been revealed. After all, it is believed that his appearance in the sequel was supposed to be a surprise for fans when they see the movie. However, Crowe's cameo has been leaked after he was seen with other cast members of the MCU flick.

We're loving the idea of Crowe being a part of the MCU and he would be a welcome addition to the franchise. Crowe had previously played Superman's father Jor-El in Man of Steel. For now, we're not sure who he is playing in the Love and Thunder and there is a possibility that his appearance will be a small cameo.

Love and Thunder had previously cast Christian Bale, who is also an Oscar winner. Bale has been confirmed to play the villainous Gorr the God-Butcher in the MCU series.

Thor: Love and Thunder is directed by Taika Waititi and is currently in production. The film is scheduled for release on May 6. 2022.
