Taika Waititi is easily one of the most colorful figures on social media and more often than not, the Thor franchise director's humorous posts on his several platforms show his fun-loving and no-nonsense attitude. However, many people believe that Taika may have taken things a little too far with his recent tweet that had something to do with the Kentucky tornado that devastated Mayfield that left a lot of people dead.
The Korg actor retweeted a haunting photo posted by podcaster Rex Chapman which sees the screen of an entire movie theater in Mayfield destroyed by the tornado. Admittedly, the chilling image was equally artistic, and being a filmmaker himself, Taika saw something else entirely out of the image. Taika captioned his post by writing "Breaking the 4th wall" which was most likely intended to be a literal take on the scenario.
As clever as his remark sounded to some, a lot of fans weren't too fond of Waititi seemingly taking the situation likely, especially after the tornado battered Mayfield. The response to his tweet drew the director some major flak from fans and a lot of them believe that his joke was made in bad taste. What do you think? Check out some of the reactions below:

Taika is no longer stranger to getting caught in the middle of controversy. Just last June, Waititi, his real-life partner Rita Ora and MCU colleague Tessa Thompson were embroiled in controversy after racy photos of them circulated online. At this point, I don't think Waititi cares about his public perception and will continue to walk to the beat of his own drum.
Meanwhile, Taika's next Marvel Cinematic Universe flick, Thor: Love and Thunder hits cinemas on July 8, 2022.
