The world of entertainment went into a major frenzy last May when photos of Thor: Love and Thunder's Taika Waititi, Tessa Thompson, and British singer-songwriter Rita Ora being a little too intimate with one another went viral. Initially, the general belief within the Marvel fandom was that it was just a playful scenario and nothing more but the three-way kiss they shared caused a ton of controversy and ultimately led to speculation that they are in fact in an open relationship.
Now, a month after the photos surfaced and generated mainstream attention, Waititi is finally breaking his silence. In an interview with the Sydney Morning Herald, Taika addressed the buzz surrounding the now controversial photos and while he didn't exactly confirm nor deny the rumored "relationship" between them, the Korg actor said that he doesn't find anything wrong with the said images.
Taika said: "Not really. I think in the world of the internet, everything goes away pretty quick. And also, ‘is it that big a deal?' No, not really. I was doing nothing wrong. It's fine."
Rumor has it that the folks over at Disney and Marvel Studios were dismayed over Taika's behavior and may have actually reprimanded him and Thompson. Honestly, it doesn't sound too farfetched at all given the fact that the House of Mouse has long been protective of its family-friendly image. I gotta say though, the company shouldn't be intruding in the personal lives of its talents especially if it's not causing other people harm.
Meanwhile, Thor: Love and Thunder hits cinemas in 2022.
