The Witcher Showrunner Shares Alternate Ending to Season 1

Netflix's The Witcher might not be a huge hit with the critics but viewers are loving it, so we can all assume that The Witcher Season 2, which has already been greenlit, will also be a hit. As we wait for season 2, which is going to take a while I assure you, fans have decided to replay The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, forgetting how good this game is.

As we wait for more information on the second season, The Witcher showrunner Lauren S. Hissrich has decided to reveal an alternate ending the staff had planned for the first season. While it's not a huge departure from what's already been shown, Geralt meets Ciri, she says "Who is Yennefer?" but there are a few more lines that would have made things a bit more grandiose.

Hissrich pointed out how the ending was edited down since they cut out the Brokilon meeting, which a lot of fans complained about. The showrunner explained that they knew the risks of this but felt it was worth it since changes need to be made so that television viewers can have a more enjoyable experience.

While some of the complaints are legit, we doubt that fans would have wanted to wait for so many seasons before meeting Ciri and Yennefer. Don't get me wrong, seeing Geralt slice up monsters is pretty fun but it's a better activities in the video game. For television? Fans will need more than that, hence the early appearances of Ciri and Yennefer.

The Witcher Season 1 is now showing on Netflix.
