The Witcher Showrunner Returns To Twitter, Reveals Season Finale Has Been Written

It didn't take too long, but we're glad that Lauren Hissrich is back on Twitter after being driven out by trolls who didn't want diversity in Netflix's The Witcher. Hissrich has decided to come back with style, as the showrunner for the game has announced that she is done writing the show's season finale, which is huge news.

No details were given about the season finale of course, but it's good to know that the show is making progress. Granted, this could be a draft and she might have to work out some kinks later on, but this is still a solid enough victory. If this gets approved, we might be able to see some scenes being made.

Very little information about Netflix's The Witcher has been released, outside of Henry Cavill's official casting. The games and books have had plenty of stories that can be made into a series, so seeing what they put on will be fascinating. We can only hope that the Netflix series pays tribute to the source material and manages to be a fun show in its own right.

One thing fans really want to see is Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia. Cavill has been cast as the game's lead and he won't be returning to the Superman role anytime soon, so the sooner we see him as Geralt the better. Here's hoping he can pull off Geralt's awesome voice since that's one of the defining attributes the character has.

With Ciri possibly getting a big role in the series, we could be seeing a straight up adaptation of The Witcher III: Wild Hunt. This was the game that made CD Projekt Red famous, as the title came out on PS4, Xbox One, and PC, instead of just gaming computers like the first two games. It was a big hit when it came out and if the series is based on Wild Hunt, expect fan expectations to be unreasonably big.

The Witcher will come to Netflix in 2019.
