Fans might be getting exactly what they want after all. A new report has possibly revealed that Netflix is currently auditioning young white actresses for the role of Ciri in the highly anticipated The Witcher series.

There have been previous rumors that the network has sent a casting call for "Black, Asian, and non-white minority ethnic background" actresses for the role of Cirilla. The BAME casting call certainly had people talking, with some fans demanding that the character should be portrayed by a white actress. Interestingly, a Reddit post might finally lay all the rumors to rest.

The moderators of the subreddit r/witcher have banded together to write an important message.

"I have had the privilege of speaking to an anonymous source who has confided with me that there is currently casting taking place in Poland, specifically looking for Polish actors. One of those of interest that will be auditioning is 'Caucasian/White Polish', casting for the role of 'Young Ciri'."

The post also reveals that some scenes from the series will be shot "outside of Europe." It adds that the source is trustworthy and the information is highly credible.

The Ciri casting controversy has already taken its toll on several fans. There are even speculations that The Witcher showrunner Lauren S. Hissrich has decided to quit Twitter because of the backlash on a possible BAME Ciri. Nevertheless, the update is a welcome one that can assure fans that they have nothing to worry about.

The Witcher series is expected to air on Netflix by 2019.
