The Witcher Showrunner On How Henry Cavill Got the Role of Geralt

Henry Cavill made headlines today after it was announced that he would be playing Geralt of Rivia for Netflix's Witcher series. Showrunner Lauren S. Hissrich talks about how Cavill got the job, and how he seems perfect for the role.

She posted this on Twitter:

Just last month, Cavill was talking about how he wanted to play Geralt in Netflix's Witcher adaptation, and if you put the clues together, he may have already auditioned for the part when he made that comments.

Besides Hissrich, a lot of other fans are happy to see Cavill in the role as well. Besides being a beefcake of a man, he's also a true blue fan of all things fantasy. He even shares that he almost lost the Superman role because he was too busy playing World of Warcraft.

Netflix's Witcher is based on a series of books by Andrzej Sapkowski and will run for eight episodes when it comes out. While not confirmed, a lot of fans are hoping that the series will follow the aesthetics of the highly acclaimed The Witcher III by CD Projekt Red.

No release date has been announced for Netflix's The Witcher.
