The Witcher Season 3 Production Start Date Revealed

It has only been less than a month since we enjoyed new episodes of The Witcher but it looks like the fantasy series is far from slowing down. A new report reveals that The Witcher Season 3 is already expected to begin production and it looks like filming will start very very soon!

It's no secret that production on the second season didn't go too well from the start. Filming had to be halted due to COVID-19 several times and then again when lead star Henry Cavill was injured on the set. So it's no surprise that the cast and crew are eager to get started on The Witcher Season 3 as soon as possible.

According to Redanian Intelligence, pre-production on The Witcher Season 3 is already expected to begin this month. That means that filming could start in late February or early March.

It's no surprise that the third season is ready to begin production. Showrunner Lauren Hissrich had already confirmed that she had been working on the screenplay for the upcoming season. With that in mind, it makes sense that filming could happen soon.

But what can we expect in The Witcher Season 3? Hissrich had already dropped hints at what will happen when the story continues. According to the showrunner, the third season will continue to cover the Andrzej Sapkowski book Blood of Elves which was the basis for the second season. However, it will also feature some stories from The Time of Contempt which Hissrich admitted is her favorite book.

The Witcher Season 3 will bring back Henry Cavill, Freya Allan, Anya Chalotra, and Joey Batey. The series has not yet been given an official release date but is expected to return on Netflix soon. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
