Production on The Witcher Season 2 is still going on and it looks like the upcoming season will finally bring in a character who is truly important to the ongoing storyline. A new report reveals that the Netflix series will introduce the priestess who will help train Princess Ciri.

In the novels, Ciri begins her training in the Temple of Melitele in Ellander. Her instruction is supervised by the priestess Nenneke before Yennefer takes over. Although Ciri's training is not featured in the first season of The Witcher, the series could reveal it in Season 2.

According to Redanian Intelligence, Nenneke is set to appear in The Witcher Season 2 and that the Temple of Melitele will be one of the major backdrops in the series. However, it has not yet been confirmed who will play the priestess in the show.

Although the casting of Nenneke has not yet been announced, the report pointed out that Julie Barclay is expected to appear in The Witcher Season 2. It is noted that she is one of the possible candidates for the role. Interestingly, it is also revealed that Natasha Fletcher has been cast as a priestess in the temple but it is not yet clear whether she will play Nenneke or a minor priestess.

The Witcher Season 2 will bring back Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia, Anya Chalotra as Yennefer, and Freya Allen as Ciri. The series has not yet been given an official release date but is expected to air on Netflix by late 2021.
