Henry Cavill may leave The Witcher after three seasons, but costar Mecia Simson believes the show will continue even without the titular actor. In fact, the show is now renewed for a fifth season.

Simson, who plays the role of Francesca, strongly believes that Cavill's exit won't have much impact on the show's future. With a new actor, Liam Hemsworth, on the lead, The Witcher continues.

Mecia Simson is Positive About The Witcher's Future

The series is about to make a major change by having a new lead star, but Simson doesn't think it will have a major impact on the show.

In an interview with A Trip to the Movies with Alex Zane podcast via Screen Rant, the actress admitted she's sad about Cavill's exit but is also confident with Hemsworth's coming.

"I was very shocked when I found out because we've done three seasons with him," she said.

"Obviously, it's sad because it's an end of an era. But that's okay," she continued. "And I think what comes next... there's going to be more exciting things that are going to happen. I think the show is still going to be great and I feel like we're grateful that we had the time that we did when we had him. Of course, it's sad, but honestly, I don't think it's going to affect the show that much."

Simson knows how big The Witcher is and the lots of elements it has.

"I just feel like everything is going to be okay," she added. "It'll be a nice transition, and I think [Hemsworth] is going to do an amazing job."

The Witcher Renewed for a Fifth Season

Hemsworth is set to play the role of Geralt of Rivia starting The Witcher Season 4. And though the fans' reception is yet to be seen, the show is already renewed for a fifth season.

In an interview with Deadline, the show's casting director Sophie Holland confirmed Hemsworth's return to the fifth season, and it would be filmed back-to-back with the fourth season.

"We're just about to start filming on season four with Liam Hemsworth, and there will be a short gap then we go straight into season five," she said.

It was the same thing the series' showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich said before, per Collider. Though ending the show after Cavill's exit was possible, they were left with "too many stories to tell."

She's also excited about Hemsworth playing the lead role.
