The Witcher: Freya Allan Hypes Up Ciri's Season 2 Action Scenes

It's almost time for the premiere of The Witcher Season 2 and there is little doubt that people are eager to catch up with Geralt of Rivia. However, he isn't the only one we're excited about when the show returns this Friday. Ciri is expected to finally begin her training in the second season and Freya Allan is hyping up the character's upcoming action scenes!

When we last saw Ciri, she and Geralt finally found each other after an entire season of looking for each other. The trailers and promos for The Witcher Season 2 have then teased Ciri trying to realize her own destiny and that means picking up the sword.

So what was it like filming all those action sequences? Freya Allan told Screenrant that she was eager to get started on the stunts in The Witcher Season 2.

"I've waited so long to do it, that I was just more than happy to spend hours in the stunt department. I loved it so much," Allan said. "I learned the basic sword work, got to learn some choreography at the start with daggers, and so doing all that helped me when I was going into the scenes where Ciri's training. The way I was training as Freya completely paralleled Ciri. I wanted to do as much as I could all the time."

Allan also revealed that she wanted to do more than she was allowed during filming. However, she wasn't permitted to do so because certain things were being saved for future seasons.

"I was always asking on days where we were filming scenes with monsters or fights against people, I was, "Can't I just do this? Can't I just chop its leg off or whatever?' I wasn't allowed to, because they're trying to leave stuff for other seasons. But yeah, I absolutely loved it and I waited so long to do it that I loved every second of it," Allan said.

It certainly sounds like an exciting development for Ciri and we welcome this new change for the character. After all, she's destined for great things and we can't wait to see how that pans out in the series.

The Witcher Season 2 will premiere on Netflix on December 17, 2021.
