The Witcher Producer Shares Exciting Details about Next Anime Series

The world of The Witcher is expanding with several new projects already in the works. We've previously seen the anime film The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf and now another project is in development. So what can we look forward to in the new anime? Executive producer Tomek Baginski shared an interesting update on the next film.

Baginski recently spoke to Naekranie where he admitted that the follow-up to The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf is now being developed. Interestingly, the executive producer shared that the first draft has been completed and that he has already read it for himself.

"We're at a fairly early stage, I've recently read the first draft," Baginski said.

But what can we look forward to in the new anime? Baginski played coy, choosing to be vague with the details.

"It is based on one of the stories we know from the world of The Witcher, so the source is entirely from Sapkowski books, but which story I would prefer to keep a secret," Baginski said.

This is a cool update considering that people loved what happened in The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf. So will the new anime continue to follow Vesemir on a new adventure? Sadly, we won't get to revisit Geralt of Rivia's mentor just yet. It has already been confirmed that the next anime will focus on another storyline in the Witcher Universe.

It will still be a long wait for the next Witcher anime but fans will have a lot of content to keep them satisfied for now. The original show's second season is already set to premiere on Netflix on December 17, 2021. In addition to that, a live-action prequel series The Witcher: Blood Origin is currently in production and already expected to premiere sometime in 2022.
