The Witcher Featurette Introduces Us to Yennefer of Vengerberg

Besides the release of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, everyone is excited for Netflix's upcoming adaptation of Andrzej Sapkowski's The Witcher series. Just in, we have a new featurette focusing on the character of Yennefer of Vengerberg, played bt Anya Chalotra.

Check it out:

While the series may focus mainly on the adventures of Geralt of Rivia, I guess you could say that Yennefer is just as important, seeing as she's also a parental figure for Ciri as well as the love interest for Geralt.

By the looks of the featurette, Yennefer may be getting her own episode to explain her origin, but if Game of Thrones is any indicator, we could have her story told simultaneously with Geralt's, and she could be a fully-realized sorceress by the time she meets him in the show.

With Game of Thrones ending earlier this year, it's the perfect time for Netflix to introduce the next big adult fantasy series. Based on early reviews for the show, The Witcher is said to be blowing GoT out of the water; perfect, seeing that everyone kind of had a bad taste in their mouth for the franchise after what took place in the finale.

The Witcher follows the story of Geralt of Rivia, a solitary monster hunter, who struggles to find his place in a world where people often prove more wicked than beasts.

For now, we wait for the release of Netflix's The Witcher which airs on Dec. 20.
