The Witcher 3 Switch Update Adds Cross-Save and Improved Graphics

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is more popular than ever, partly due to word of mouth from fans and mostly due to the Netflix show. Granted, The Witcher 3 was already popular before the Netflix series but considering how sales inflated when the show came out, you can't say that didn't make an impact. We recently got a near-perfect Nintendo Switch port, which might not be as visually impressive as the other versions but is playable and well-made in its own right.

CD Projekt Red recently released a Witcher 3 Switch update, which does a lot to make this already great game better. Aside from the usual bug fixes, the update also improves the graphics and adds cross-save functionality. Before Xbox One and PS4 owners get too excited, only those with the GOG PC version can transfer their save, at least for the moment.

Gaming companies have been working hard to make cross-play between consoles a reality, with Minecraft, Rocket League, and Fortnite currently supporting that feature. Cross-save between systems is also something several companies are working hard on and it looks like The Witcher 3 will be one of those games that supports that trend.

Fans can currently buy The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Complete Edition on Nintendo Switch, with a Game of the Year Edition also available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
