The Vision and Scarlet Witch Series Gets Captain Marvel Co-Writer as Showrunner

It looks like preparations for The Vision and Scarlet Witch for Disney+ are underway, as the series has managed to nab Captain Marvel co-writer Jac Schaeffer as its showrunner. She will also be the show's head writer, though more will probably be hired since having one writer for the whole series is impossible. This is also Schaeffer's first television project as the writer has become something of a hot commodity for Marvel and Disney since she is currently penning a Black Widow script.

Fans who aren't annoyed at Disney for spoiling Avengers: Endgame a bit are probably really happy with the news since these two characters were often relegated to supporting characters in Age of Ultron, Civil War, and Infinity War. Seeing these two get the spotlight should be fun and will prove if they have staying power as main protagonists.

Both Paul Bettany and Elizabeth Olsen are expected to return for these roles, though nothing has been officially confirmed yet. Recasting them would be awkward, no matter what kind of weird mumbo jumbo Endgame does, so it would be in Disney's best interest to keep these guys. Then again, anything can happen.

No official release date for the series has been announced but this should get fans hyped up for Schaeffer's writing. The first two Captain Marvel trailers were a bit disappointing but the third one proved that Schaeffer does have some talent.

Avengers: Endgame is coming out on April 26.
