The Villain For The Spider-Man: Homecoming Sequel Is Someone We Haven't Met Yet

Despite Vulture being marketed as the main villain of the movie, Spider-Man: Homecoming actually featured a handful of Spidey rogues including two Shockers, the Tinkerer, Scorpion, and the Prowler. A lot of people are wondering who Spider-Man might be facing in the sequel, but Kevin Feige says that it would be a villain that we haven't seen onscreen before.

In an interview with the Toronto Sun, Feige explains:

"We are excited to use characters that you haven't seen before on screen. So that narrows it down a little bit in terms of who will pop up next. Spider-Man has an embarrassment of riches when it comes to villains and there are a lot that haven't been touched upon. It's those that we will be looking at first."

I actually applaud Homecoming's subtlety when it came to using their villains because it actually featured more comic villains than The Amazing Spider-Man 2, but it still managed to include them without making it seem too convoluted. You just have to learn who to switch the focus on.

As for potential sequel villains, I'm guessing we're still going to get a handful of them, but the lead baddie will be someone completely new. As of now, we've yet to see classic rogues like Mysterio and Kraven the Hunter taking the spotlight, and Scorpion was just a small cameo, really.

Either way, I'm excited to see more Spider-Man! Bring it on!

Spider-Man: Homecoming hits theaters July 7.
