Jordan Peele's Us is currently blowing up in theaters right now, and for fans who want to see more of his work, they can look to CBS All Access for Peele's revival of The Twilight Zone. The show is set to debut next month, and a new trailer has been released for one particular episode, The Comedian.
The episode stars Kumail Nanjani (Silicon Valley) and Tracey Jordan (30 Rock), and it looks to be a dark tale about a comedian who wishes for success and gets more than he bargained for. It feels like a ‘Deal with the Devil' storyline, and it's something expected with a series like The Twilight Zone. I just think it's fun that Peele is hiring some comedians for this series, seeing that he himself had a career in comedy before moving onto the horror genre.
With shows like Black Mirror on the rise, I think it's high time for the return of something like The Twilight Zone. Even the original run still had some interesting stories that still spark relevance today. Now we get to see it brought back to life with modern filmmaking techniques and contemporary storylines.
The first season of The Twilight Zone is set to have 10 seasons, and each episode is going to feature a big star at the spotlight. Besides Nanjiani, the show has also cast the likes of Adam Scott, Rhea Seehorn, Chris O'Dowd, Zazie Beetz, and John Cho; and that's just the tip of the iceberg.
