Warner Bros. has released the trailer for Teen Titans Go! To The Movies and it looks like a film fans of the Cartoon Network series are going to enjoy. Like the show, the film will likely make a ton of jokes at the expense of its characters and the subject that's being parodied, which seems to be superhero movies. Some might wonder why we even need a Teen Titans Go movie but the trailer does look humorous.
The Titans - minus Robin - are quick to point out how great the Wonder Woman film was, talking about how inspirational she is and how uninspirational they are. From that, we see the Titans fight some kind of balloon monster, which starts making a farting noise after Beast Boy turns into a porcupine and unleashes some needles on its butt. Yeah, it is definitely the same creators of the show working on this film.
If done well, this could be good biting satire for the superhero genre. Robin mentions in the start that being a "real" superhero requires a movie these days. Near the end, the narrator points out that if Aquaman can get a movie, anyone can, including the Teen Titans. Judas Contract this isn't, though it could be a funny film in its own right.
Teen Titans Go! To The Movies comes out on July 27.
