The long wait is over, hardcore DC fans! DC finally unveiled the explosive first official trailer of The Suicide Squad and no offense to David Ayer's film but judging by the fun and vibrant teaser alone, I can already confidently say that this one is night and day compared to the divisive 2016 version. Not only that, but we can already confirm that it's going to be the DCEU's goriest film to date.

The trailer pretty much sets up the mission our villains have been tasked to do by Agent Amanda Waller and it has something to do with saving the world, despite how odd that sounds. Unsurprisingly, the trailer instantly became a hot topic on social media and DC fans are totally raving about King Shark and his animalistic nature. He does something horrifying in the film but I won't spoil anything and just let you see it for yourself in the teaser.

Staying true to its R-rating, it looks like James Gunn had a lot of fun making the film extremely chaotic and downright gory. Oh, it also teases Starro as the main villain of the Squad and if that isn't enough to get you excited, I don't know what will. Check out the trailer here:

Since it was announced a few years back that James Gunn will be taking his wacky yet glorious ideas over at DC, the excitement for the project has been off the charts. And I've said this countless times before, if there's any director on the planet who has the power to turn D-list comic book nobodies into badass and legendary characters, it's definitely Gunn himself. I'm totally excited about this one.

The Suicide Squad hits theaters and HBO Max this August.
