The Suicide Squad introduced fans to new DC characters who were roped into Amanda Waller's Task Force X. Not surprisingly, people were drawn to the new antiheroes like Ratcatcher 2, Polka Dot Man, and Peacemaker. So is there any chance that we'll get to see characters like Bloodsport again soon? James Gunn may have confirmed that Robert DuBois will be back!
James Gunn recently shared a still from The Suicide Squad that featured Bloodsport in the latter part of the film. It didn't take long for a fan to wonder if Idris Elba will return as Robert Dubois in a new DC project and not surprisingly, the filmmaker had a cryptic response.
It's an awesome tease considering that fans have been hoping that some of the characters from The Suicide Squad will get their own spin-off show like Peacemaker and Amanda Waller or return for a sequel. However, there hasn't been an official word on either possibility. Of course, there's still the option of Bloodsport reuniting with Christopher Smith in Peacemaker Season 2.
For now, we're not sure whether Bloodsport is getting his own spin-off show or he will be returning in a sequel to The Suicide Squad. It's more likely that we'll see Elba's character in Peacemaker Season 2 and it's a welcome idea since we'd love to see how Robert will react to a reunion with Christopher.
The Suicide Squad has not yet been officially confirmed for a sequel but James Gunn has already shared that he has ideas for the next movie. In the meantime, we will be waiting for an official announcement from DC and Warner Bros. on the follow-up film.
Peacemaker Season 2 has not yet been given an official production start date nor a release date. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
