The Suicide Squad: James Gunn Reveals His Favorite Task Force X Member

James Gunn is finally working on The Suicide Squad and it looks like the filmmaker is already playing favorites. The Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 director has just revealed which character is his favorite member of Task Force X.

Gunn recently shared a photo of the first gift he received while working on the upcoming DC Extended Universe film: a copy of The Brave and Bold #25 which also marks the first appearance of the Suicide Squad. As usual, fans posed several questions about the production and Gunn happily answered most of them, including one about his favorites. When one follower asked about his favorite member of the Suicide Squad from the comics, the filmmaker had an interesting response.

"I have many but I will say Harley Quinn is one of the greatest, most unique, and specific comic book characters ever - up there with Batman and Spider-Man as far as I'm concerned," Gunn wrote.

It's an awesome answer considering that many fans also favor Harley Quinn. Although Harley started out as a character introduced in Batman: The Animated Series, she has since crossed over to the comic books and other media. Since we know that Margot Robbie is reprising her role in Gunn's new film, there is little doubt that Harley will once again be one of the major players in The Suicide Squad.

So how far is The Suicide Squad into production? Although we're not entirely sure, it looks like most of the cast members have already filmed for the Warner Bros. movie. Gunn also confirmed that John Cena has already shot some scenes for the DCEU film. Needless to say, we're looking forward to more updates about this flick.

The Suicide Squad is scheduled for release on August 6, 2021.
