Bohemian Rhapsody may be the king of the box office this week, but next week will see the release of one of the most anticipated films of the year, Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald. A new clip has come out and it has Newt and Tina being chased down by Newt's older brother Theseus Scamander.
Check it out:
By the looks of it, Newt has become wanted in France, and for some reason, Theseus is there to chase him down. It has been said that Newt has a complicated relationship with his brother, and it could have something to do with his connection with Leta Lestrange.
Though Leta might be teased as a possible love interest for Newt, the ending of his story has already been written in Potter lore. We know that he eventually ends up marrying Tina, and they both become the in-laws of everyone's favorite Hogwarts kook, Luna Lovegood.
I guess what Fantastic Beasts will be about is Newt's unknown involvement with the fall of Grindelwald. I'd be amazed if he's also loosely connected with the rise of Voldemort. It's been my theory for a while that Ezra Miller's Credence is actually Tom Riddle who's had his memory wiped by Grindelwald (or possible Dumbledore) in order to control him better.
In an effort to thwart Grindelwald's plans of raising pure-blood wizards to rule over all non-magical beings, Albus Dumbledore enlists his former student Newt Scamander, who agrees to help, unaware of the dangers that lie ahead. Lines are drawn as love and loyalty are tested, even among the truest friends and family, in an increasingly divided world.
Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald comes out Nov. 16.
