The Sandman Season 2 Filming Start Date Revealed By Star

Netflix may have been canceling their shows left and right, even after Season 2 approvals, however, The Sandman Season 2 doesn’t seem to be a part of that plan, as Neil Gaiman had revealed it’s still going to happen, and now, the Desire actor Mason Alexander Park has revealed the filming start date of the series.

While making an appearance at the recent San Francisco Fan Expo, YouTuber JunJun Jiang uploaded a video of Park opening up that Netflix has purposely not been calling The Sandman Season 2 a “Season 2” given the recent show cancellations of the streaming site. Check out their full quote below:

“Netflix has not gone on record as calling [The Sandman] a Season 2, on purpose,” Park said, “And so, I will, from now on and in the future, and possibly until the end of the universe not refer to it as a Season 2 until we know what it is.”

However, Park still managed to reveal exciting details for when The Sandman Season 2 filming begins: “There is more Sandman coming in a really cool way, and it can take many forms, so we’re starting shooting in the summer, and we’re gonna tackle the next huge chunk of stories in however long that might take. And I’m really excited to share the format of what that might be with everybody eventually.”

It is no surprise that even Mason Alexander Park is being wary around Netflix’s official Season 2 renewal on The Sandman, seeing as the streaming site has proven that no show is guaranteed a greenlight until they say so. However, in light of this, showrunner and creator Neil Gaiman did reassure fans that Season 2 is going to happen, as confirmed by Netflix previously:

“The Sandman Season 2 has been commissioned by Netflix and is real. Whatever behind-the-scenes wrangling and negotiating needed to happen to make this a reality has already occurred.”

The Sandman Season 2 will start shooting this summer, so in the meantime, you can catch up on The Sandman Season 1 available to stream on Netflix.
