We all know for a fact the DC Extended Universe has been struggling for years to maintain its position as one of the top franchises in Hollywood. Questionable creative decisions and poor stewardship from WB executives are just some of the factors that have led to the franchise's decline but now, Warner Bros. Discovery along with Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson have seemingly reinvigorated the fans' interest.

However, not everyone is thrilled with the actor's apparent plans for the franchise. For starters, fans aren't too sure what to make of Black Adam being presented as an anti-hero right away when he's meant to be a villain. Secondly, The Rock's evident desire to make Teth Adam a central figure in the DCEU also raised concern within the community.

In his most recent interviews, Johnson has made it clear that he wants his character to go up against the Justice League and the Suicide Squad. And then there's this rumor of a Black Adam vs Superman film being in development. Now, Dwayne is addressing the concern of fans, clarifying that the showdown between two of the DC Universe's most powerful beings is still years away from happening.

Reposting his interview with ComicBook's Brandon Davis, The Rock said: "That’s definitely not the next step. We have a lot more long-term storytelling to do before that historic DCEU showdown and more new characters to establish."

It looks like The Rock truly meant it when he said that the hierarchy of power in the DCEU is about to change. So far, the actor is proving that he has his finger on the pulse and if Henry Cavill's Superman comeback isn't enough proof, then I don't know how to convince you.

Black Adam is screening in cinemas worldwide.
