The Rising of the Shield Hero Season 3 Teaser Trailer Reveals October Release

It’s been over half a year now since the first teaser visual was released, and finally, The Rising of the Shield Hero Season 3 has its first teaser trailer along with an October release date.

Details about the next season were also revealed on the show’s official website.

Meanwhile, the new trailer was shared on the official KADOKAWAanime YouTube channel.

Also shared as part of the new announcement is the third season’s official key visual.

The Rising of the Shield Hero Season 3 Reveals New Key Visual

Back in August, a teaser visual for the isekai anime's next season featured a new mystery character along with the cryptic phrase “Heroes and Their Regrets” at the top.

Now, the new key visual features the Shield Hero Naofumi alongside the other Legendary Heroes, including the Bow Hero Itsuki Kawasumi, the Sword Hero Ren Amaki, and the Spear Hero Motoyasu Kitamura.

This visual also features the words “Our Regrets Make Us Stronger,” likely as a reference to the second season’s events. Check it out here:

The four heroes appearing in the visual are interesting, though it does look a bit plain compared to the first poster which had a more interesting backdrop.

Shortly after its release, fan reactions were divided, with many bringing up how Season 2’s quality left a lot to be desired and that they hope Season 3 will be better in terms of its story.

There are also some funny reactions as some pointed out how Naofumi should be in the center given how useless the other three heroes are.

The Rising of the Shield Hero Season 3 Teaser Trailer, Release Date

Perhaps the highlight of the new Shield Hero announcement though is the new trailer which finally gives fans a look at new scenes from the third season.

While the visual features the Four Legendary Heroes, the teaser trailer is focused more on Naofumi, Raphtalia, and company as they engage in some big fights. You can watch the trailer here:

Also highlighted alongside the trailer is the show’s staff which includes the new director Hitoshi Haga who replaces Masato Jinbo from Season 2. Though this season will still be animated by the studio Kinema Citrus.

The Rising of the Shield Hero Season 3 will be released in October 2023. It’s confirmed that the series will be streamed by Crunchyroll in the US and other selected regions outside Japan.
