A lot of people are still debating over whether Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker was a fitting conclusion to the storied Skywalker saga or not. Some folks were pretty pleased with what they witnessed, while others are still on the fence about it. Now, if you were to ask the film's lead star Daisy Ridley, she thinks Episode IX was the perfect ending for Rey and it couldn't have been better.
Speaking with IGN to promote her upcoming film Chaos Walking opposite Tom Holland, Ridley shared her thoughts about the divisive sequel trilogy and her character Rey. "I think for me the beauty of Episode IX is it ends with such hope and such potential," Daisy explained. "I just feel like that was Rey's perfect ending. The big battle was in Episodes VII, VIII, and IX. I think really she's probably running around the forest somewhere having a great time [following the events of The Rise of Skywalker]."
The British actress continued by saying that she was very much satisfied with how Rey's journey ended. "I feel totally, totally satisfied with how that story finished. I just don't know what else she could do that I didn't have to do. Also, there are so many amazing characters in Star Wars, that it's sort of an amazing thing. I was watching the new episode of Mandalorian, and it's just like the places it can go beyond even where it is now is so exciting."
By the looks of things, Daisy isn't exactly thinking about returning to the saga anytime soon but don't think for one second that her time in the franchise is truly over. After all, the Star Wars saga is far from over and there are still plenty of stories to be told. Regardless of how you feel about Rey being a Mary Sue-esque character, you gotta give mad props to Daisy for doing the best she could to keep the sequel trilogy from falling apart.
In other Star Wars news, The Mandalorian Season 2 is streaming on Disney+.
