The Punisher Showrunner Wants To Bring Daredevil And Kingpin Into Season 3

Now that Charlie Cox's Matt Murdoch no longer has a show thanks to the November cancellation of Daredevil, it looks like Punisher showrunner Steve Lightfoot wants to give the Devil of Hell's Kitchen and his nemesis Wilson Fisk (Vincent D'Onofrio) a new home in Jon Bernthal's series.

Sitting down to speak with Heroic Hollywood after the premiere of the second season of The Punisher, Lightfoot decided to open up about the things that he hopes to see in the series' next batch of episodes. While the anxiety of a potential cancellation still hangs over the air considering the recent trend among Marvel TV's many offerings, the producer still wants to see Daredevil and Kingpin make appearances in future episodes of The Punisher.

"Yeah. All those guys are great. Obviously Daredevil and Punisher have a lot of history and story between them in the comic books. So it would be great to dig into some of that. Also villains like the Kingpin who was featured in quite a lot of the Punisher books as well. So it would be fantastic to get some of those guys back into the show if we can make it work," Lightfoot said during his interview with the entertainment news outlet.

Of course, it wouldn't be farfetched to see Daredevil meeting up with the Punisher in the vigilante's series. After all, Frank Castle first debuted in Matt Murdock's own series, appearing in the second season of Daredevil. The established connection between the two wouldn't make it difficult to bring Daredevil into The Punisher.

Besides, the appearance of Daredevil in the series would also bring a whole lot of excitement to the fanbase. Fans were devastated when they learned about Daredevil's cancellation and many continue to hold on to the hope that Netflix might rethink its decision.
