Just when you couldn't get enough Coronavirus updates, Disney has announced that The New Mutants would be getting another delay. This is heartbreaking for a lot of people since this film has been delayed for the longest time, thanks to Fox and the merger with Disney but now they have a more understandable reason. Plus, they're going to lose a lot of money if they release it during Coronavirus season so this was the smart thing to do.
Deadline has confirmed that The New Mutants has been removed from Disney's current slate of releases, alongside Mulan and a number of other non-Disney movies. It's a sad state for a lot of people but this was the only thing they could do to make sure people don't go out. Nobody wants this thing to spread even more and an action like this has to be done.
The New Mutants is one of the more interesting superhero movies coming out, actually blending in some horror themes that make this more unique than something like Black Widow or Wonder Woman 1984. Not helping is the fact that this movie is standalone with no sequel coming out since Disney bought Fox, which is a shame since it would have had Karma and (Not Adam) Warlock in it.
As of this writing, Disney and Marvel have not revealed a new release date for The New Mutants.
