The Nevers Episode 5 Recap
The Nevers focuses on a group of people, comprising mostly women, who suddenly develop magical powers. This causes many people to be suspicious of them, who come to be known as Touched. Others appear friendlier, but actually have ulterior motives, wanting to exploit the Touched and their abilities. Amalia True and Prenance Adair are two women who are actually interested in helping the Touched. In St. Romaulda's Orphanage, they offer them a safe place to stay.

Episode 5 is concerned with Maladie's almost-execution. There is a conflict between Amalia, who wants to find Galanthi, the artifact that created the Touched, and Penance, who wants to save Maladie. The latter's plan is seemingly a failure, as Maladie is seen dying. However, the end of the episode reveals that this isn't the case. Clara, Maladie's followers, hanged in her stead, while Maladie got away.
