We've all been waiting to get our first look at Keanu Reeves' return as Neo in The Matrix Resurrections. Luckily, today is the day we get just that as well as some interesting new footage from the upcoming sequel.
Warner Bros. has just dropped an announcement teaser confirming that the Matrix 4 trailer will be released on Thursday. When fans checked on the film's official website, they were presented again with the same red and blue pill from the teaser. However, things get truly interesting when you click on either pill.
The red pill takes you to a teaser featuring Reeves' voiceover along with footage of new characters played by Jessica Henwick and Yahya Abdul-Mateen. There's also a brief glimpse at what appears to be Trinity in action.
The blue pill features another man's voiceover and this time, we get more glimpses at Neo who appears to be taking several blue pills. There's even a clear look at Reeves in action in these teasers.
The amazing thing about the teasers is that it seems to speak directly to the viewer, even mentioning the exact time that they are watching the footage. It's a neat trick and it certainly has everyone hyped up for the Matrix 4 trailer drop tomorrow.
The Matrix Resurrections is directed by Lana Wachowski and stars Keanu Reeves, Carrie-Anne Moss, Jada Pinkett Smith, Lambert Wilson, Daniel Bernhardt, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Neil Patrick Harris, Jessica Henwick, Jonathan Groff, Toby Onwumere, Max Riemelt, Eréndira Ibarra, Priyanka Chopra, Andrew Caldwell, Brian J. Smith, Ellen Hollman, and Christina Ricci.
The film will premiere on December 22, 2021.
