Anticipation is slowly building for the much-anticipated return of The Matrix franchise next year which will of course feature the epic comeback of Keanu Reeves as Neo, along with Carrie-Anne Moss' Trinity. The fourth Matrix film will pick up where 2003's The Matrix Revolutions left off and it's set to mark the debut of new characters who will be portrayed by the likes of Neil Patrick Harris, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, and Jessica Henwick, among others.

Now, the star of Marvel Studios' Iron Fist shares her excitement over her involvement in the project. The rising actress recently spoke with NME and revealed that she's actually a fan of the legendary sci-fi film series. "It's trippy. I grew up watching these films," Henwick shared. "The first time Keanu spoke in character and said Neo's lines, Yahya [Abdul-Mateen II] and I shared a look like, ‘Oh my god, it's happening!'"

It isn't hard to understand why the new breed of Matrix actors feel the way that they do. I mean, being part of a renowned global franchise is a huge honor in itself and to be able to work with the one and only Keanu Reeves? That right there is a dream come true. As it stands, we still know very little about the upcoming film but there is no doubt that the grand comeback of The Matrix franchise will lure in longtime fans of the film series and introduce the sci-fi saga to a whole new generation of viewers. There's a lot about it to be excited for, that's for sure.
