The Matrix 4: Keanu Reeves' Neo Return Depicted in Badass Image

2021 will mark the triumphant return of The Matrix franchise after 18 long years and in case you've been living under a rock all this time, the sci-fi juggernaut will make its explosive comeback with pretty much the same set of cast members while introducing new characters to the fold.

As it stands, we still know very little about The Matrix 4, but fans are already anticipating the much-awaited return of Keanu Reeves as Neo in the successful franchise. Now, it's safe to assume that the fourth sequel will chronicle the lives of Neo and Trinity post-The Matrix Revolutions but what exactly would the characters look like after almost two decades?

Digital artist ApexForm unveiled his latest artwork on his Instagram page depicting Neo's potential character design for the upcoming film. It's a far cry from Neo's usual getup we've all gotten used to but it's still a welcome change. Ditching his iconic trench coat and sunglasses, "The One" is now sporting a stylized cloak and he looks pretty badass. Check it out here:

It'll be interesting to see how everything plays out in The Matrix 4 taking into consideration Neo's ultimate sacrifice in the last film. In The Matrix Revolutions, both Neo and Trinity seemingly died and fans initially thought the third sequel would mark the end of the franchise. Morpheus' absence in the upcoming film is also quite intriguing but I'm pretty sure all of our questions will be addressed this December.
