This year has been an eventful one for the MCU and it includes the introduction of Kamala Khan as Ms. Marvel, and next year, she is set to join her idol, Captain Marvel, and Monica Rambeau in The Marvels wherein Laura Karpman is the composer and she teases the new score of the upcoming sequel.
Iman Vellani is a breakout star as she took on the role of Kamala Khan in Ms. Marvel where she gets introduced as, possibly, the first ever mutant in the MCU, and in the post-credits scene of the finale, a cameo appearance reveals Brie Larson's Captain Marvel in Kamala's room, with the latter nowhere to be found.
This scene ultimately sets up what comes next in The Marvels as the two would be joined by Monica Rambeau in the sequel of Carol Danvers. The Marvels will be scored by composer Laura Karpman and she has nothing but praise for the performance of Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan.
Speaking with Collider, composer Laura Karpman of The Marvels teased the new score of the upcoming movie, "I'm working on it. Very much so. I mean, I'm smacked dab in the middle of it."
Karpman also revealed how she praises Iman Vellani's Kamala Khan in The Marvels, "What I can tell you is this, it's going to be great. And the performances are great, and Kamala comes back, and she's fabulous. And I love, love, love writing score to her performances as well as everybody else in the film. It's terrific."

This isn't the first time Laura Karpman will be working in a project with Iman Vellani as she was also the composer for Ms. Marvel, and she worked on What If..? Season 1, and the upcoming What If..? Season 2 as well.
Kamala Khan's arrival in the MCU is just in time with Ms. Marvel as the moment she gets her very own series, she may just be what the franchise exactly needs in their new breed of heroes. Kamala, after all, idolized Captain Marvel so much, her room is quite an altar for the superhero.
Nia DaCosta is the director of The Marvels which stars Brie Larson as Carol Danvers/ Captain Marvel, Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau who may debut her new moniker as "Photon," and Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan/ Ms. Marvel.
The Marvels will come soaring in theaters on July 28, 2023.
