It's no secret that Luke Skywalker's return in The Mandalorian Season 2 was one of the biggest surprises in the Disney+ series. Interestingly, even the cast was blown away by the Jedi Master's unexpected cameo when they were filming the scene. Gina Carano has just admitted that she was thrilled about having Luke in the Star Wars show.
Carano was recently interviewed for the Drunk 3PO YouTube channel where she opened up about filming Luke's return.
"It felt magical. There was, like, electricity happening in the room. There's a specialness about it. Everybody in the room feels it," she said. Carano then added that she didn't know about Mark Hamill's involvement in the series until it was almost time to shoot the sequence.
"I started finding out about it in the makeup trailer, basically because you're like, ‘Oh wait, who's that?'" she said. "And because they didn't say it in the script…And then you know, everyone that has worked on The Mandalorian is like an insane Star Wars fan. And they have the shirts and they're like, ‘Wait a second.' And so, everybody starts doing a little whispering."
It's great to know that even the people working behind the scenes were just as excited about Luke's return although they managed to keep it all a secret until the last moment. With that in mind, we're already looking forward to the new surprises that will happen in The Mandalorian Season 3.
