The Mandalorian's Giancarlo Esposito Teases 'Epic Lightsaber Action' in Season 2

Even with The Force playing a minimal role in the series, The Mandalorian is still a huge show and is probably the biggest reason purchased Disney+ in the first place. Considering how the first season gave us Baby Yoda, who we will NOT call "The Child," and a grittier version of the Star Wars universe we know and love, we can only imagine what The Mandalorian Season 2 has prepared for us.

Giancarlo Esposito, who plays Moff Gideon in the show and Gus Fring in Breaking Bad, told ComicBook.com that we would be seeing much more lightsaber action in Season 2. That's great news since they barely played a part in the first one, though Gideon's Darksaber that appeared in the end basically confirmed this. Still, we really want to see this character wreak havoc in the best way possible.

"The prop guys are wondering about me because I was in a bit of a commotion and a bit of a struggle with someone else, which I'm hoping you will enjoy when you see it. Major, major, epic, epic lightsaber action happening on this show, and I should mention that I'm the only character in this first season who was able to be honored with having that lightsaber."

Since Esposito's Gideon is the only character with a weapon that can be classified as a lightsaber, one has to wonder about the kind of foes he'll face so that we can see "epic lightsaber action." Will the titular Mandalorian get his hands on a dead Jedi's lightsaber? Will some Jedi who are in hiding come out and fight Gideon? Right now, the possibilities are endless.

Currently, The Mandalorian Season 2 has no release date. The first season can now be streamed on the Disney+ streaming service.
