The Mandalorian: Werner Herzog has No Idea about Jon Favreau's Films

It has been proven time and again that you don't have to be a fan of Star Wars to be in the film, and the same probably rings true for The Mandalorian's Werner Herzog. Herzog has been clear that he doesn't really follow the films before getting cast in the show, and just in he's admitted that he hasn't even watched anything from showrunner Jon Favreau.

Talking to Variety, Herzog talks a bit about working on the first live-action Star Wars series. He admits that he likes how the sets are practical, but when asked if he's watched anything else from Favreau, he simply says, "I do not know what other films he has made."

It's actually pretty funny how Favreau hasn't fallen under Herzog's radar before, counting that he's directed a lot of big films like Iron Man, Jungle Book, and recently The Lion King. Herzog isn't actively ignoring these films though, as he admits that he doesn't really watch any films. He says, "You shouldn't feel upset that I haven't seen the "Star Wars" films; I hardly see any films. I read. I see two, three, maybe four films per year."

For now, Herzog's character fits very well into the show, playing a seedy ex-Imperial client of the Mandalorian. We don't really know what his motive is in the series, but he already makes for a great presence.
