By now, it is already known that Baby Yoda has basically taken over the internet ever since the character was introduced in the pilot episode of The Mandalorian. However, aside for a glimpse of his abilities, there isn't much known about the adorable creature yet. In fact, it isn't even quite definite if the Child is a male or a female.

In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Taika Waititi, who starred and directed an episode in the show, teases that Baby Yoda could actually be a female. "I knew that people would be talking about Baby Yoda, but I also know Baby Yoda's real name," Waititi said. "So if you're gonna do me a favor, please stop calling him Baby Yoda. Or is it a her? No one knows!"

The creature's sex hasn't been exactly in question amongst fans. However, in the third episode, the Client actually referred to the Child as a "him." But then again, no one knows the extent of the Client's knowledge about the creature, but it could just be Waititi making fans speculate and theorize some stuff about Baby Yoda. After all, the director even made a joke on Twitter, saying that the Child's name could be Nigel. And as previously stated, Waititi does know the baby's name, but he told the fans to just wait for Jon Favreau, the show's creator, to give the name away.

Fans are hoping that they'd get to know more about the creature in the second season, considering that Mando's mission at the end of the first season is to bring the Child to his home planet and reunite with his kind.
