The Mandalorian Star Pedro Pascal Discusses His Star Wars Fandom

It seems like The Mandalorian is the most popular television show out right now, for obvious reasons. Star Wars has always been a huge franchise, one that has made billions of dollars from merchandise alone, so it's easy to see why its first live-action show is doing so well (Baby Yoda helps). Pedro Pascal, who plays the titular Mandalorian, was actually a huge fan of Star Wars back in the day but now that he's playing a role in the franchise, he feels that his fandom has been renewed in an even bigger way.

Speaking with USA Today, Pascal feels that he is an OG Star Wars fan, which is a funny way to say that he just loves the product more now. Pascal has actually been a fan of Star Wars since he was two-years-old, noting that he grew up with the franchise and he seems to have seen every movie thus far. Still, when he started doing research for his role in The Mandalorian, Pascal gained a deeper appreciation for what this series has done for people.

Here's what Pascal said about his Star Wars fandom and why it's better than yours (as if starring in The Mandalorian didn't already make him better than us):

"I keep on trying to own this over everyone, which is sort of hilarious and delusional because it was just my whole childhood. So much of (it) was owned by 'Star Wars' movies and merchandise, from the underwear to bed sheets to all the toys and everything."

Kidding aside, it seems like Pascal really is the perfect fit for this role. He's been doing really well as the character thus far and adding Baby Yoda to the mix has everyone going gaga over this series. Expect more crazy revelations when it comes to The Mandalorian.

Fans can watch The Mandalorian right now on Disney+, where episodes air weekly.
