The Mandalorian Star Giancarlo Esposito Admits That He Broke Three Dark Sabers While Filming Season 2

After an exhilarating first season, fans are waiting with anticipation for The Mandalorian Season 2. There are already reports that Rosario Dawson could pop up as Ahsoka Tano and knowing that she could take on Giancarlo Esposito's Moff Gideon could lead to some orgasmically good lightsaber battles. Funnily enough, Esposito revealed that he has indeed been shooting scenes with his dark saber for season 2 and broke three of them while doing so.

Theory a.) Esposito is so strong with the Dark Side that his dark saber can't contain it or b.) He's still getting used to taking part in these battles. Sadly, the answer is B because we live in real-life and not in our dreams, huhu.

During an interview with IMDB, Esposito shared a humorous bit of information about his ongoing dark saber battles. Aside from breaking three of them, the actor has also admitted that he has hit himself in the head, which must have been really funny. Considering how badass his character is, knowing this definitely makes us like Esposito a lot more.

"I'm decent. I'm getting better. But you have to respect the power of it, the energy of it. It's long, dude. I've bopped myself three times already. Pop in the head, I'm like oh my God, what do I do? I start laughing. People look at me, they want me to be the expert right off the bat, because I'm the bad ass. But you know what? It takes practice. So we have long ones, we have short ones. Because sometimes they have to put it in. And guess what? I can say this? I can say it, I can say it. I'm going through it in my head, spoilers, blah blah blah. I can say it. I've broken three of those bad boys."

Since he's likely to be the main antagonist, we're pretty pumped to see Moff Gideon in more fights, especially now that he has a dark saber in hand. It's a weapon that the likes of Darth Maul have used in the past and we can't wait to see it wreak havoc in The Mandalorian.

No release date for The Mandalorian Season 2 has been revealed.
