Star Wars: Bill Burr to Return for The Mandalorian Season 2

Comedian Bill Burr has always been very vocal about not getting into Star Wars, so you can imagine everyone's surprise when he was cast as a mercenary in The Mandalorian. What's fun is, Burr is actually going to make a return for the second season.

According to Making Star Wars, Burr will be coming back as Mayfeld for the second season of the show. We don't know how large his role will be, but he'll probably want to get back at the Mando for leaving him and his crew trapped in that New Republic prison ship; then again, they kind of had it coming, what with them double-crossing him and all.

Besides the meta joke that Burr himself has been cast in the show, I actually really like the character of Mayfeld, and he really fits right in with the ‘scum and villainy' of the franchise. While everyone likes the Jedi and the Sith, I've always been more of a fan of the non-Force users like the pilots and bounty hunters.

With Burr coming back, I have no doubt that the rest of Mayfeld's crew is also going to make a return. Maybe this time, they'll be with Michael Biehn's new character who is said to be a bounty hunter that's worked with our Mando in the past. Hopefully this time, he won't be doing the double-cross.

For now, the second season of The Mandalorian is set to hit Disney+ this October.
