One of the stars of The Mandalorian recently explained why the third season worked without the romance between Bo-Katan Kryze and Din Djarin.

Several fans of the series were hoping that the third season of the series would have explored a potential romance between the two main characters considering how close they have become.

However, in the end, it never happened as there was no hint that Djarin and Bo-Katan would ever get into a romantic relationship and they remained to be platonic friends.

In an interview with Screen Rant, Brendan Wayne, one of the on-set actors who plays Din Djarin, defended the lack of romance between his character and Bo-Katan during the third season of The Mandalorian.

He explained that it would have "cheapened" Bo-Katan's leadership arc if the series decided to push the potential romantic storyline.

"It's so great because they could've cheapened Bo's journey by trying to create something there, but they let her be strong and powerful without needing the romance from Din to make her something else," Wayne said.

"'I will always follow you until your song is sung.' That is so much better than, 'We can grow to be the queen and king.'"

Some fans would definitely agree with Wayne's sentiments since they also believe that the series could work without the need for a romance between the two characters and it works better for their respective arcs.

It also made Bo-Katan such a standout character in the third season and she became remarkable for the audience simply because of her individual arc, not due to a potential romantic tie-in with the lead character.

With the series moving forward as The Mandalorian & Grogu movie, it is interesting to see whether we will see more of the friendship between Din Djarin and Bo-Katan in the big screen project.
