After nearly three years, the Star Wars franchise's flagship program The Mandalorian has finally returned and you can best believe that everyone was hyped up for it. Season 3 is centered on Din Djarin's quest to restore order in the Mandalore tribe after Bo-Katan Kryze failed to claim the throne.
Titled "Chapter 17: The Apostate", the episode immediately starts with a bang as a group of Mandalorian warriors led by The Armorer fights a giant water monster. Just when it looked like the creature was set to devour all of them, Din comes out of nowhere to obliterate the monster and save his comrades.
After a brief conversation with The Armorer, Din heads to Nevarro to meet with Greef Karga. When the "High Magistrate" offers him a role as the planet's Marshal, Mando refuses it and reveals why he returned to Nevarro and that is to bring an old friend back to life.
Apparently, Mando wants some reinforcement in his team and has sought the help of Karga to resurrect IG-11, the droid who self-destructed in Season 1's epic finale. While their attempt to bring IG-11 back worked the first time, the droid reverted back to his original configuration where he was programmed to destroy Grogu.
Thankfully, there's still hope to bring IG-11 back to his old self and famed droidsmith Babu Frik who made his first appearance in The Rise of Skywalker will be in charge of fixing the broken droid.

If you may recall, the droid voiced by Taika Waititi has long been rumored to return in Season 3. Now, IG-11's renewed role in the series remains to be seen but it's already safe to assume that Mando wants to form a formidable team but for what reason?
