The Mandalorian Season 2: Who Played [SPOILERS] in the Season Finale?

It was a surprise, to be sure, but a welcome one. The final episode of The Mandalorian Season 2 has managed to deliver an amazing conclusion for the beloved Disney+ series but it also had an unexpected cameo from a mysterious hooded figure. But who played this iconic Star Wars character in Chapter 16: The Rescue?

WARNING: The following contains spoilers from The Mandalorian Season 2 Episode 8 so proceed with caution.

In Chapter 16: The Rescue, Mando found a way to infiltrate Moff Gideon's cruiser with the help of Bo-Katan Kryze, Boba Fett, and Cara Dune. Although they managed to capture Gideon after an epic fight, they were cornered by the Dark Troopers that Mando ejected from the cruiser.

It almost looks like the battle is lost until an X-Wing suddenly appears and a hooded figure begins fighting the Dark Troopers. It is then revealed to be Luke Skywalker who has come after hearing Baby Yoda's Force call.

Interestingly, Luke's appearance in The Mandalorian Season 2 Episode 8 has fans wondering if a new actor was used to play the Jedi Master or if the series decided to de-age Mark Hamill.

So who played Luke in The Mandalorian Season 2 finale? It was definitely Hamill since he was credited in the credits. However, the episode had a body double for Luke as well. It has been confirmed that the "double for Jedi" was played by Max Lloyd Jones who had previously appeared in War for the Planet of the Apes.
