The Mandalorian Season 2 Could Make Boba Fett's Star Wars Legends Story Canon Again

There is little doubt that almost everyone has been rooting for Boba Fett to crawl out of the Sarlacc Pitt in Return of the Jedi. Luckily, it has been confirmed that the bounty hunter survived, thanks to the first episode of The Mandalorian Season 2. But is it possible that Boba's survival story will be revealed and finally make a Star Wars Legends story canon all over again?

Back in 1996, fans were happy about Boba making his way out of the Pit of Carkoon. After all, this was the premise of the short story A Barve Like That: The Tale of Boba Fett that appeared in the anthology book Tales from Jabba's Palace. Unfortunately, the book (and the story) has been deemed not canon since it is part of the Star Wars Expanded Universe. On the other hand, The Mandalorian may have hinted at the possibility that it will adapt the storyline.

In Chapter 9: The Marshal, it is revealed that Boba is very much alive. However, his face is severely scarred, suggesting that he had to fight his way out of the Sarlacc.

Here's the cool yet gruesome part: In A Barve Like That, Boba is released by the Sarlacc's tentacles when his jetpack explodes. He then uses concussion grenades on the creature's sides, blowing a hole through which he manages to escape. However, the blasts also injure Boba severely.

For now, it is unclear if this will be the story that The Mandalorian Season 2 will follow. Nevertheless, we are expecting to learn the truth in the next few episodes.
