We already know that the First Order is the enemy in the Star Wars sequel trilogy films. But how exactly did the group get started in the first place? A new book has revealed the origins of the First Order.
The new book The Star Wars Book published by DK and written by experts Cole Horton, Pablo Hidalgo, and Dan Zehr has a volume dedicated to the First Order. Interestingly, the book confirms something that has already been shown in the sequel trilogy movies.
"We know that the military might of the First Order was built up in the Unknown Regions by the escaping Imperial leadership in the decades after the Battle of Jakku,".an excerpt from the book reads. However, it also reveals the political origins of the group.
"The First Order also had its start inside the New Republic," the book reads, stating that the agents created "a political stalemate, forcing systems that fear losing control of their autonomy to break away from the New Republic - in a coalition called the First Order."
If this sounds familiar, this is exactly what happened in the Star Wars prequel trilogy films. Palpatine worked from inside the Old Republic to slowly destroy it by manipulating events around him. Unfortunately, it looks like the New Republic didn't learn its lesson and it led to the creation of the First Order.
In addition to sharing interesting new details from the sequel trilogy, The Star Wars Book also covers The Mandalorian and The Clone Wars.
