The Mandalorian: Pre-Orders for Sideshow’s Baby Yoda Crashed the Website

Earlier today, Sideshow Collectibles had unveiled their incredibly detailed Baby Yoda figure up for pre-order, and it's astounding how great it looks. What's funny is, so many people apparently rushed to see the figure that it ended up crashing the site.

According to Games Radar, the official Sideshow website had immediately crashed after they announced that ‘The Child' was up for pre-order. It's all up and working now, but the initial crash could be a testament to how many people have their eyes on this $350 figure.

Here was the official announcement:

Here's also a partial description of the figure:

Lovingly referred to by audiences as ‘Baby Yoda', the mysterious alien known as The Child has quickly become the breakout fan-favorite of Star Wars™: The Mandalorian on Disney+. Now eager collectors can become a clan of two and bring home the asset as an incredible 1:1 scale Star Wars collectible, no tracking fob needed.

I have to admit, though the show is about our main Mandalorian, Baby Yoda has undoubtedly become more popular, popping up everywhere all over the internet. With a second season underway, I just hope that we get some solid character development from this thing. I mean, it's supposed to age slowly, but I think it should have an official name; maybe even allowed to speak a few words.

Sideshow's Baby Yoda becomes available between August and October of this year. The Mandalorian returns to Disney+ this coming fall.
