Meant to serve as the official crossover event for shows The Mandalorian, Ahsoka, and Skeleton Crew, the MandoVerse project is rumored to feature Grand Admiral Thrawn as its main villain.

Now, a new report seems to confirm that the film will indeed be Thrawn-centric and its rumored title alone is a dead giveaway.

According to Twitter insider MyTimeToShineHello, the title of Filoni's Star Wars will be "Heir to the Empire" which also happens to be the title of Timothy Zahn's acclaimed 1991 novel which officially introduced Star Wars fans to the Thrawn character, a villain that has become synonymous with the franchise's animated universe.

The tipster also noted that MandoVerse showrunner Jon Favreau is expected to pull producer duties for the film but for the most part, Filoni is going to do the creative work.

As it stands, key details about the film are still being kept under wraps but Filoni recently teased Thrawn's massive role in his debut Star Wars film.

On the other hand, we're not expecting it to be a full-blown adaptation of Zahn's novel but you have to agree that using the novel's title is an awesome nod to Thrawn's creator.

Dave Filoni's Star Wars film has yet to get an official release window. Meanwhile, all three seasons of The Mandalorian are available to stream on Disney+.
