Gina Carano being unceremoniously ousted by Disney from the Star Wars franchise is easily one of the biggest newsmakers of 2021 but over the last couple of months, it seems like the controversy has died a natural death. Of course, there are still people who believe the House of Mouse should pay for what they did to the former mixed martial arts star but if you'll check out her recent social media activity, Carano has seemingly moved on from the matter as she's starting a new chapter in her blossoming Hollywood career.
We still don't know how things are between Gina and Disney but in a jaw-dropping turn of events, Lucasfilm is reportedly bringing Carano back in the MandoVerse. According to a new rumor from YouTuber and Star Wars scooper Mike Zeroh, Jon Favreau is one of the key people who have been pushing for Carano's return to The Mandalorian and allegedly convinced Disney to rehire the actress.
Zeroh also claims that Carano will make her Cara Dune comeback in the fourth season of the hit Disney+ series which is currently eyeing a 2023 release date and the official announcement of Gina's return could happen before the year ends. Of course, nothing has been officially confirmed yet so take this report with a death star-sized grain of salt.

If Carano is in fact making her grand Star Wars return in The Mandalorian Season 4, this could mean that Cara Dune will be written off temporarily in the upcoming third season. I'm not saying I believe the latest rumor but it's almost safe to assume that the entire Carano situation could be one of the contributing factors that have affected the production of Season 3 which was supposedly set to begin filming last Spring. I guess only time will tell.
