The Mandalorian Season 3 continues to be the gift that keeps on giving but out of all the jaw-dropping moments Chapter 20 featured, one surprise certainly caught fans of the Star Wars franchise off guard. Titled "The Foundling", Episode 4 marked the shocking return of Ahmed Best, best known for his role as Jar Jar Binks in the prequels.

Best plays a different character in the series, a Jedi named Kelleran Beq who made his official debut in Star Wars: Jedi Temple Challenge, a children's game show which premiered on the Star Wars Kids Youtube channel in 2020. It turns out that Beq was the one who rescued Grogu during the Jedi Purge but the episode doesn't go into detail about his connection to the Jedi Order and the Force-wielding Child.

For years, Ahmed has been berated for his portrayal of the polarizing Gungan but he's made a conscious effort to redeem Jar Jar through his various body of work. Now that he gets to play a more serious role in the franchise, fans couldn't help but feel thrilled for the actor.

On Twitter, viewers celebrated the return of the prequel trilogy star and most of them were begging for more Kelleran Beq in future episodes. Check out some of the reactions here:

The positive reception Best's new character generated definitely opens the door for more appearances for Kelleran Beq and I'm pretty sure Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni took notice. It's just so rewarding to see him finally get the adulation he so rightfully deserves.

The latest episode of The Mandalorian Season 3 is now streaming on Disney+.
